Default Boost

Hello all!!

Just bought a grey WRX "96" last week, nopt got it yet as I need to sell my car before picking it up (if anyone wants a 02 plate saxo vts in wicked red with 59000 miles - £3995 ono lol),

What boost will it be running on as standard?

If I buy a boost controller what can it safely run on?

Is a Boost control a good idea or not recommended?

Cheers

Boost is 0.87bar standard IIRC, I have mine (MY95) running at 1 bar with a hybrid boost controller, which I believe is safe. It's a good idea to invest in an AFR guage or Knocklink to make sure that your mixture is ok and you're not causing DET when you wind up the boost. An accurate boost guage is a must, and ALWAYS use good fuel (Optimax or 99ron).
Bet you can't wait to pick it up.....

Run the car as standard at first, get used to it then if you want modify it. I would first improve the handling and braking before improving outright power, modifying is expensive business and I would make sure your new car is mechanically sound before tuning it further.
