Do a fog light search. There was a thread on here about it last week, I think.

If your car is already SVA'd all you need do is wire up a red bulb into the O/S reversing light. This 'll be fine for the MOT but won't pass an SVA test. It's really easy to do.......get yourself a red or orange illuminating switch, run a live from say the ciggy lighter socket, run an earth to the body (anywhere is fine but make sure it aint plastic!!) then run a wire to the back lights, remove the reverse light bulb, replace that with the red bulb, cut the MIDDLE wire that's going into the holder and join your wire to that.....it's already earthed so that's it....easy!! If it sounds hard give me a call on 07810 098199, i run an import business but i'll always help out and it's free!!
Dave.

Hi mate,
Cheers for that. At the moment I have just 1 reverse light as you said, but no switch or anything for the rear fog. I'll have to take a closer look and maybe give you a call if that's ok.

Cheers buddy

That's the way mine is set up too. Just gotta wire in the fog bulb. I didn't fancy cutting my bumper to put another light in it!!!!

1.Buy foglight, wire through and attach fog light to bottom of bumper for MOT
2.Remove from bumper after MOT
3.Sorted

Not strictly legal, but you will only get pulled in thick fog!

Hi Andy,
No probs if you need to call, if you are close to Blackwood in South Wales you can view a couple we've done on our stock cars or feel free to call. As long as you've got a tiny bit of DIY skills then this is p*ss easy......don't cut into your bumper, it don't look nice!!
Dave.

Just like to point out that my Import failed it's MOT because the switch for the rear foglight (which worked) hadn't got a telltale light on it....so make sure you get an illuminated switch.

The foglight itself fits under the bumper so no cutting out required - but it does look naff.

Bit harsh I thought - but as it also failed on emissions it was the least of my worries

Sweet!! Just found out that the red bulb is already wired into the offside rear light.....but no switch
Looks like I'm gonna have to re-wire it
Cheers for the advice on the switch mate...I would not have thought of that

Dazza ... i'm planning on fitting Sti lights, have got a foglight switch and was wandering if it's easy to wire up if I just switch one reverse bulb for a red one. Also, do you know what type of bulb is needed?? Is it possible to get a white led that shines red?????

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers
Bradders

My Westfield once failed for the same reason - it had a perfectly good fog light and switch, and the switch actually illuminated along with the rest of the dash when the headlights were on. But, it failed because the light in the switch didn't go out when the fog light was switched off - the tester actually had the gall to ask me "how do you know if the fog light is switched on?"

Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. Would you drive a Westfield in such thick fog that you couldn't even see the switch on the dashboard?

No, nor would I....
