Question requiring a clever answer ......
Had the Scooby up on the 4-poster today doing the Oil Change.
Thought I would do a quick pre-MOT check over it .... all ok, but the backbox (the standard pea-shooter, 6 years old and 66,500miles under its belt) looked like it was corroded badly.
I pulled back some rusty pieces expecting a hole to appear, but, no - another bright steel layer lay underneath .... cleaned it up with a wire brush and its fine and dandy, no leaks at all.
Now the question, how many layers of steel sheet does the Subaru Standard Backbox consist of??
Pete

Must be a bit worrying for you Pete.. might have to start changing your back box at a similar time to your brake pads!!
I think i might have a spare original backbox somewhere.. I'll have a look and if anyone wants it they can have it for the price of postage or pick it up for free
