Default cambelt tensioner ?

guys in the know
There is a rattle coming from the cam belt area of the engine on start up for about 5 - 10 minutes until the engine is warm,i have just spoke to the local dealer and discribed the noise to the best of,

Does this sound like the problem?
will it kill my car if used?
and how much of a repair bill am i facing(car 2 weeks out of warranty )

i had a clicking noise coming from my cambelt area took the cover off and found that my cambelt was being stripped because of a dodgy roller (not helped by the tensioner leaking).
Best thing to do IMHO is to check to see if there is any play in any of the rollers by seeing if the rollers move backwards /forwards.If belt goes than yes you will kill the engine.

Rob, depending on whats wrong, most parts for that area of the engine are avaialable from Camskill....
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...d=m10b0s1165p0 i've just replaced my belt and all the idlers..... not too difficult if you're mechanically minded....
