Have you got insurance quotes -essential if you're under 25 as quotes can be into the 4 figure mark easily- and looked into running costs, these are not cheap cars to run.

My advice would be to spend more to save more on the running/repair costs later.
Might be worth talking to your local subaru dealers to see if they get any traded in as you may pick up a bargin if you can buy it at short notice as the dealer will want to shift it on asap.

John,
It might be worth speaking to your local dealer as they have a trade in that fits the bill. If the dealer can shift a trade in at short notice (especially for cash) you may pick up a bargin.

Have you actually got quotes for the insurance? The reason I ask is that at age 30 with 5 years no-claims I thought I wouldn't have to worry but when I searched, the quotes I got ranged from about £1600 to over £3000! Apparently if you haven't got a couple of years experience driving group 20 cars it can be expensive. I did manage to get insured in the end for about £700 from Gary Mouslon.

Also, you have to bare in mind the kind of costs you'll incur as you'll be looking at high milage examples and consumables will probably need replacing. Don't forget that as its an import you'll want to run it on SUL and Octane Booster. Make sure that its had all recent servicing done as a big service could cost you 25% of the value of the car.
