Default Chip/Dent on bonnet

Got a feckin dint on my bonnet from a stone. Got a couple of quotes, one is a Chips Away repair, taken dents out and touch in. He said won't be perfect £130.

Alternatively, bodyshop to remove bonnet, respray etc, £335.

Opinions please?

£335 seems a bit steep for a resprayed bonnet, I would shop around, you should be looking at less than £200 for a full respray of the bonnet.

Another thing is the front of a(an?)STi bonnet (newage anyway)is double skinned,so you can't get at the dint to remove it.

trust me I've had 2 done on my 05 in less than 12 months.

...plus I'd let my Mum try and fix it before letting ChipsAway loose on anything

Best bet is a bodyshop and get it done properly....sadly its only going to happen again tho

Where the dent is should be accessible, bodyshop have checked. Failing that it's a bit of alloy filler. Will get it down properly, don't want a ****e job.

Its luck of the draw with Chips-away, being a franchise you get some good and some cowboys, I've seen some great work by Chips-away and I've seen some really shocking work!

I picked up 2 nasty chips on my bonnet recently...

Went to the local Chips Away franchise, quoted £220 which I thought was a bit steep.

In the end, had the dents knocked out by dentmaster for £25 + bought a touch up kit from Subaru & primer stick from Halfrauds. OK it's not 100% but it isn't far off!
