prodrive 300bhp sti
drove a prodrive (built from shell) STi the other day at a driving course day out and wasn t impressed with the acceleration.
The blokes at the day out who owned and ran the cars said they were knocking out somewhere between the 300-320 bhp mark.Took them from a standing start up to about 115-120 and thought that they would be a little more torquey and responsive than they were. Then i did a little looking around on the web and found they weigh 1470kg!!!!!!!
WHAT DIET HAS SUBARU BEEN FEEDING THE IMPREZA LATELY?
The extra weight really bogs the new shape impreza down compared to the classics. My wrx import my94 running a decat ,filter and exhaust only would have definately gave these guys a run for the money, and there model had hardly any interior(bar the cage).
Lot nicer looking than the classics, but, sadly, lacking in the beer belly stages.

Surprised at what you thought - MY05 Sti with PPP has a 0-60 time of 4.6 and 12.5 secs to 100 - with 300bhp, the one you driven should have felt awesome - maybe it was just thrashed to death

You do get used to the power though - friend of mine with a Boxter got in mine for a thash over the weekend and he was blown away by the acceleration - and he spent £35K
