Default i love my scooby but???

i dont want to start a big long thing like the punto race but to be honest my old gt turbo raider would have spanked my subaru to 80 how ever the subaru has more looks and the 4 doors keeps the misses happy and if she plays up she will fit in the boot

" spanked " ? i dont think so, try taking the handbrake off.
the raider was either highly modded or you are talking toss ( or more likely trying to start another pointless childish debate)

There is more to owning a Scoob than how many cars it will beat in a race!

The crap spouted on here sometimes is unbeleivable!

Ted.

the scooby is considerd the benchmark by many

"i beat a scooby"
"i kept up with a scooby"
"i nailed a scooby from the lights"

not quite sure why this is, but that is the way it is

Only today I had someone say "I thought you must have extra income, driving a Subaru on School technician's money". It's an example of perceived "coolness", "expensiveness" or something. I put him straight. "My car's worth about six grand, I fill it up with petrol once a week, I have to keep it serviced like any other car". He seemed really taken aback.

I think the R5 GTT is one of the best "old school" cars for anyone who wants a fast car, fun and easy (ish) on the pocket.

I have to admit that the R5 has to be the best car in terms of fun I have ever had. The power to weight ratio was unbelievable.

I had the odd rush of blood to the head when I had mine. RS Turbo's, pugs etc were not a problem. The only time I was truly left behind is when I tried it on with a RS500 Cossie. You would know the outcome if you had half a brain cell but I was only 19 at the time.

But the point being made is........the R5 are quick and giving the right mod's (120bhp as standard) they can make the 200+ BHP mark.
I spent a small fortune on my car and I as I have said before it was the most fun car I have ever had bar the Scooby of course but they are different beasts.

I have to say though that there is no way a R5 would be keeping up with a Scooby over 50mph unless it was a bog standard WRX and the R5 had around 6k spent on mods. My thoughts that's all.

I'll get my coat.

Steve

the R5's are light, and can be tuned so make them very fast. So are RS Turbos. Great cars, except they break down. A lot.

Quality!

The Impreza is renound for its 0-60 sprint, the flat four block is VERY torquey and the 4wd means there is no loss in traction.. After 80 its open for attack..

Now if a standard Punto GT Turbo can out sprint a Standard WRX to 80 I'll eat my own ****.

Actually thats still not even a fair test.. Punto GT is the highest performance spec punto, so should it be compared against the highest spec Impreza??? 22B maybe? lol
