Police Speed Detection On motorways
A mate ( ) went past a Police car parked up in a police lay by on the M40 Saturday morning at a speed that was relatively safe to do at 6.30a.m but not a speed recommended by the Met . The officer was leaning over the roof of his Volvo, either getting a shunt off his mate or aiming a speed gun down the lanes . He didn't chase my friend, nor was there another car waiting a mile down the road for him.
What's the deal with speed guns/ motorway speed traps, they don't take a photo of the plates do they? and If he wasn't stopped was Mr Plod getting pleasured or is there some new speed offender capturer that I or my friend don't know about?

Strictly he can still be done (as long as he gets a NIP within 14 days to the RK) however with a real Police patrol (not a Scammership) they will usually stop at the scene, so 'he' is probably OK!
