Shot balsting can be mild to severe, depending on the medium used (soft smooth ***** to sharp aggressive grit) and the pressure used. The calipers will need to be stripped down and properly masked, a good shot blasting outfit will advise you, but a bad one will blast whatever you give them and can wreck stuff. If done correctly, it will leave you with a beautifully clean and non-corroded part ready for painting/anodising.

its a strip down of the unit if your blasting, i have done a few sets for mates at work. need to mask off everything that doesnt need painting basicly.
in a perfect world, blasting is the way forward, but i painted the calipers on my Rallye, all i did was take as much to bits, (not pistons out though) masked it off, wire brushed it then used acetone from work to clean them off.
Painted them, rebuilt and in 2 years, not a problem with the finish

I repainted mine with caliper paint from Halfrauds, and like said before a brisk rub with a wire brush and emery paper, then cleaned off with some panel wipe done the job, just keep clear of the rubber dust covers.
