Default PPP for MY06 Sti

Just had 2nd test drive today in MY06 Sti.

After testing had discussion with dealer and I asked if there was any news on PPP and was told they had received notification today that PPP for MY06 Sti will be 310bhp and £1700 inc VAT with availability in 3/4 weeks.

Shame that it is only 5bhp more than previous but at least it is cheaper.

Anyone else been told similar?

Not sure about WRX as I was negotiating on Sti. On my way home I thought I should have asked about WRX.

They are calling me tomorrow so i will ask then.

That's pretty poor really though isn't it? You get about 305bhp on a base level Evo (FQ300) and 316bhp is all Subaru can offer from a 2.5 STi with a PPP

yeah but torque will make a fast road car, not overall bhp....the torque level could still be better mind you....

As before, the PPP is made up of a re-mapped engine ecu done by prodrive and a new exhaust system, all covered under Subaru Warranty and recognised by your insurance company (Well if they know what they are talking about!!)

Yes mate, as far as i know it is from the Turbo, back, it will also give a slightly louder noise from the exhaust too as with the previous PPP's

I've just been told about these PPP's too for the Forester,

Forester 2.5 XT M/T

Available - End of March 2006.
Power - 260ps (256bhp) @ 5600rpm
Torque - 407Nm (300lbft) @ 3000rpm
RRP - £1700 (Inc VAT & Fitting)

Forester 2.5 XT A/T

Available - End of April 2006.
Power - 260ps (256bhp) @ 5600rpm*
Torque - 407Nm (300lbft) @ 3000rpm*
RRP - £1700 (Inc VAT & Fitting)

* Performance figures for Forester 2.5XT A/T have still to be confirmed and are issued as a guide only.

Now bearing in mind that the Forester 2.5XT M/T does 0-62mph in 6 seconds as standard, these are gonna make them a bloody quick estate car!!

NICE!!!!

that is a lot of torque for wrx gearbox! but only slightly better torque for sti,you think they would have tried a bit harder to compete with mitsubishi....unless a limited edition ppp model is coming out before new model arrives?

I think you will find that the downpipe from the turbo will not be changed, hence the price reduction from £1999 to £1700

Default not enough bhp

That does not seem alot, They are letting the evo get away again, you can buy an evo 9 change the exhaust, induction, and a remap they are coming out at just above 400 bhp, so easy to tune with every model,

Not all about bhp though torque is up to 330ish and IIRC the Wr1 was 309.8 lb.ft at 4,000 rpm so much more useable on road power I would imagine

Your right and PPP is all about drivability and Warranty

Prodrive have been testing thier PPP's around at different Rolling Roads. Gauging BHP and Torque Fiqures and maybe refrained from quoting figures from Bench testing an Engines at MK. Now owners will be able to achieve simular results if the test their Cars. IMHO

Tony

As an example the numbers for the WRX are
PE 269/308 (bhp/lbft)
PS 269.5/292
WRC 264.5/330

We'll probably quote something close to the PE numbers as we've correlated them previously to our engine dynos at MK.
