Question number plates

why do people cover up the number of there plates in there pictures?

what can the people of the crime world do when they have a picture of your car and the number plate.

dont you need the log book to get a replacement number plate now.

Cloning I guess ....... see your car, see your plate, put the same plate on their car and go run some speed camera's or do a ram raid ...

nope, any plate you can buy on the internet can be bought without docs. how you going to show them???

cloning (sp) is a major problem, especialy with the amount of scoobs on here, it would be all to easy topic a car out of the galley and get a copy of the plates made up

If they read about your car and think "I want to nick that" it is a lot harder to identify the car without the number plate. Especially if it is a bit of a sleeper.

This is something else that makes me laugh! why the hell are people worried about cloneing?? They will still need the chassis number to get a V5 and wouldnt it just be simpler to pick any old car on the street???

Anyone would think imprezas are rare??? Paranoia strikes again!

Also its near on impossible to get someones address by their VIN number unless they work for the DVLA or they are a copper.. and if they work for the DVLA they have got access to the location of every single impreza in the bloody country!

The chances of that happening are slim, and lets face it most of us will have pretty solid alabies and witnesses that we were else where...

This is also why its good to leave the original dealer plates on your car! the little logos at the bottom are very helpful to identify your car

just another point, for about £40, with a reg number, cant you get this info from HPI....

if so, its an easy way to get the chassis number, making it easier to CLONE a car

Jesus, i think your missing the point here.

Right, if i were that way inclined.... ?I own a blue blobeye WRX for example.

I came on here and look in the gallery, i pick one that looks like mine, copy the plates, put them on mine.

oh, look what i have now, i can now park on double yellows with a SLIM chance of being caught. the ticket wont be sent to my house will it. i get caught, i change the plates for another blue WRX. simple as that
