Restrictions on AA Roadside Relay

Default Restrictions on AA Roadside Relay

Are there limited mileage rules on recovering vehicles.

The distance is prob about 100 miles.



Does anyone know

Not that I know of, they might have to swap recovery vehicles at some point though.

As far as I know the AA will take you wherever you want, distance no object within reason!

I think maybe where my confusion comes from then is a limit on recovery distance from a home start.

They said they had to refer me to private recovery firm last time because it was more than 10 miles form home address. Untill i threatened to cancel membership


Then they made me wait three hours

The only thing I think they stipulate on is the distance to take your car to a garage from your home.

I can remember my dad being relayed all the way home from the Isle of Wight to East london once, and yes they did swap at each county.

Yes there is a ten mile limit on roadside and from your home.If you have relay theres no limit provided your not at home.

Yep,Providing your not at home,If your gonna use a card thats not yours make sure you have some id to back the card up and also Know the d.o.b and home post code of the holder.The aa are getting pretty hot on misuse of cards.

so with relay could i get the car towed too a garage of my choice no matter were it is rather than towed home?

they only swap because of the driver hours or if theres another driver going back in your direction empty. if theres no need to swap they wont, in theory anyway!
