I'm holding on to my cash until the 2007 revision comes along, but reading various threads on here there seems to be various (and wildly differing) views on what it might be. So far I've read/heard the following different views

It will be a 3lt
Twin Turbo
Hybrid
Hatchback
Not called an Impreza at all

Anyone out there got any real inside knowledge they are willing to share?

It will look exactly like the MY06 Impreza.

The MY08 is another story.

 

It will be uglier

 

If the MY08 is anything like the concept that was in Scooby mag then I think Subaru will be going bust shortly afterwards !

 

There is no way Subaru would restyle and re-engine the Impreza for 2006 if it was planning on bringing out a whole new model in 2007. It'll be 2008 at the earliest.

 

the 2.5 was done for the forrester though and adapted for impreza due to public demand iirc

 

The feeling I get from talking to people involved in supplying various parts direct to IM is that 2008 is when the next major change will come. The concept being shown at motor shows is demonstrating their hybrid technology and I think they are aware that if the next Impreza was to look like that then they will single-handedly rescue Mitsubishi from their financial mire.

The Mitsubishi looks fine from the rear but thatfront end is awful !!!

 

Well im glad theyre only concepts (obviously much borrowing from other cars - not subaru or mitsi )

The mitsu looks good I think. The scooby too....if it were a honda civic
