Default HID Lights from Bugeye

is it possible to buy the units as used on the JDM STI and do a straight swap ?

or do you just have to buy a JDM STI to get HID lights ?

Yes & no (Yes they physically fit but no, the wiring needs sorting to include HIDs)

No but it'd be easier having the full car

I did it including the leveling system with JDM lights, Autolamps HIDs and my own wiring for the leveller motors...

Best lights I've had so far and potentially for sale as I've changed cars...

The easiest way to get HID lights is to buy the bulbs that replace the H4 units, e.g. here. Been seriously considering these but apparently the main beam is not that different from standard, which is where I want to see an improvement.

replacement bulbs dont provide HID lighting

they do provide Xenon Lighting, which is where some get confused. Xenon describes the gas the bulbs are filled with

HID is a different way of lighting it and produces lots more light.

Rob82uk you are wrong in this instance. Please look at the link. You are correct in that a lot of superwhite bulbs are mis-described as HID. These however are replacement HID (gas discharge) units with ballasts etc.
