One of these would come in very handy for timing 0-60 and much more (post also includes one of my times; not the best launch I've done though...):

0-60 is quite pointless in 99% of cases unless you want to try to beat a 1ltr corsa off the line?
What you really want to look at is your in gear times, this is where your real power is

Jake it's a hard one to answer, most of the people who have drag raced their cars will only know their 0-60ft, 1/4 mile ET's or top speed runs. Only the ones with data logging will be able to say with any degree of accuracy.
Bubba, apologies for the abbreviation re. ET's

Personally I think it's time we now used 0-70mph!!! When I were a lad, they used to use 0-50mph. As the average power of cars increased they upped it to 0-60. So as there has been a huge increase in engine power isn't time we went to 0-70mph??

Look, it's only a useless piece of information that only a complete numpty would try to replicate with his own car (automatics accepted!) IMHO of course.

I agree it't not the best measure, but still useful.. Imprezas get off the line well. There's nothing wrong with measuring it.
I posted various figures from my MY93, before and after decat, but can't find the post to edit:
0.60 5.28 best time so far
30-70 through gears 4.77 (5.4 with cat)
50-70 in top 5.8
50-70 in 3rd 2.4

Most technical people now quote 0-62mph as this also coveres the 0-100km/h time.
I have got 5.4 seconds off my old WRX (270bhp) but that was not using proper timing gear just a stop watch. Did 0-60 in 3.99 using a Race Tech timer, Cateringvan running 420bhp/ton and on slicks.

FWIW, Mine consistently does 0-60 in less than 5.5sec depending if I had lunch before my launch
