Bog standard classic import wrx mpg?
I know its a bit of an old chestnut on this board, but what mpg will a COMPLETELY STANDARD 1995 import WRX saloon return? Book figure is 28mpg. Is this right? 300 of my 400 a week miles will be on an a-road

Sounds crazy but im looking at a scoob as a weekly 400 mile commuter with a petrol budget of about £60 tops.
Im considering audi a4/a6s bmw 3 series, but the germans dont seem to make reliable cars like they used to....

Seriously though, if your more interested in getting a decent mileage I'd look else where, not only will it cost you a fortune in fuel, its going to cost a fortune in maintainence costs if your doing high mileage.

I got about 27mpg. Driving a Ford Puma in the same way (obvioulsy slower though) I got 45mpg on the same route.
Don't forget to run it on super though...in any case I don't think you should expect the reliability to be better than anything else.

No chance - not on an import. You'll be looking at 300 miles coming in at an easy 50 quid a time.

I know mine's not an import but:
UK Turbo with a decat currently running 243 BHP, on Optimax I get 22 MPG so 400 miles per week is £75/£80.
Tank only does 250 miles so 2 stops per week is necessary.

Mines a uk97 car which is standard except very slightly higher boost level (1.05 bar) and on my comute back and for to work 25miles each way I get approx 27mpg. Mostly sensible driving with a few quick blasts each way.
300miles on a tank (As low as I dare go) approx 50ltrs. I know the tank holds 60 but after 300 miles it looks as if I'm on fumes and I don't fancy walking!
Cheers
