Default vf34 on a wrx

What is the general opinion on my next power upgrade?

53 wrx with prodrive sports cat and decats and backbox. Sti filter. Making 276bhp/279lbft.

Was going to go for a vf34. Will I need injectors and pump to get the most out of it? What can be got from this safely without injectors and pump or is that a NO-NO?

there is little point in doing it without the pump and injectors....with both of those in place you shoudl see a tidy 310 or so on a decent map and in some cases more.

without then you may as well leave it as is. Youd see a little improvement but not much as the injectors are maxed by about 290 unless fuel pressure is raised.

cheers for that. Injectors it is then. Any better turbos for quick spool up and higher power that people can recommend?

not in that bracket, the VF34 is the one to have of those, the only other one is the TD05 16g, may be slightly cheaper....

You will need uprated fuel pump and injectors, 550 + should be good to see 320bhp with a good map.

I have that setup and a bit more, but all in vain with 95 fuel.. but still in the 300 club

mate of mine with 05 wrx has the same mods exactly as yourself and he had the vf34 turbo put on, mapped and produced 311.9 bhp, without injectors or pump. they did say however that the pump and injectors would enable him to get a bit more out of it than he has at the moment. the injectors were running at 105% usage apparantly, thats his next mod. he expects to get 325bhp or thereabouts when pump and injectors go in.
