Default New or nearly new, that is the question.

In a couple of months I will hopefully be in the position to finally get my hands on a nice Scooby.

I have a dilema though...I will have in the region of £16-17K to spend and I'm after a WRX, as new as I can get. I've looked around, Autotrader, Subaru dealers, etc... and it looks like for that money I'm looking at a 6mth to 1 year old car. Now I have also had a look on Litchfield Imports website and they are advertising brand new 2.5 MY06 cars for £17K.

Can someone, in simple terms, tell my why I shouldn't get the car from Litchfields instead of a dealer?

One of the things I'm most concerned with is having a rock solid manufacturer warranty, which is listed on the Litchfield site.

You wont go wrong with Litcho's. If i can afford another Scoob, this is where i will be going and there are a lot of ppl who hang around this bbs that will recommend him without fail.
go for it, and enjoy

Cause you like paying over the odds?

I'd be inclined to go with nearly new every time; that way you don't take the initial worst hit of depreciation!

Yeah that is the obvious bit isn't it

What I'm saying is I can get a brand new car from Litchfields for the same price as 6mth old cars from dealers, so no worries about the depreciation side of things.

Am I missing something here or are you getting exactly the same car with exactly the same warranty backup and servicing for considerably less at Litchfields.

I know some of the imports are lacking things like underseal etc, does anyone know if this is the case with Litchfields cars?

The IMPORTS will be unwanted when you come to sell and you will have to drop the price heavily to sell.

I would stick to a UK car of about 6 months old ..... can't go far wrong there!

Imports made sense in the late 1990's and very early 2000's - they make little sense now .... they drop in value faster than a ****** knickers on payday!

Higher Insurance costs

PLUS the Subaru Main Dealers will treat you like a leper!!

DON'T DO IT!
