Hi

This might be a dumb question - but a friend has been offered an S2000 by a dealer who imported it themselves from Belgium.
They are telling him that there is no difference in spec etc to a UK car (which might well be true)
But they are saying that as far as they are concerned its a UK car so when my friend comes to sell it on he doesn't even need to let the buyer know its an import.
The dealer faxed over the log book which looks exactly the same as any other log book.
So real question is - how can anyone tell its an import & if there is no way of telling then does my friend even have to disclose this info when he sells it on ?
He is not trying to pull a fast one - its just that the Honda garage is saying that its no different to a UK car in any way & he doesn't even have to let on its imported when he comes to sell.

Is this right ?

Thanks

Ro.

Exclamation

No, you're required to keep the VAT receipt from HM Customs for 7 years and pass it on to future owners (at least that's what my VAT receipt says).

Spec is the same apart from

1. Locking wheelnuts
2. Alarm

VAT - you'll need the proof.

Also you'll need a Certificate of Conformity

Yours a very happy chappy with a 2001 MY Belgian Import

PS Would recommend using the search facility here - you'll get loads of links to similar questions
