Hmm I dont seem to be stopping?
Thursday morning, lovely snowly lanes, being the smart *** doing about 10mph and **** I seem to be headin for the ditch, yep, I'm very very slowly heading out of control towards a ditch! I tried everything, had time to change my clothes a cup of tea and a nap before sliding into the Big hole.
Right in, lucky for the AWD or I'd not have got back out. Drove down motorway with a massive shaking and thought ****!!
Removed the mud from the wheels and its all good again
Very vry lucky I wasn't speeding or my poor car would be dead

At least you had time to change your shreds. Glad to hear that your wobble was due to mud on the wheels and not damage. This morning helped a mate change the lower wishbone and track control rod on his Fiesta. skided low speed into kerb also buckled his wheel.

Had very nearly the same happen to me a few weeks ago, it was the first time out in the snow with my scooby....not impressed! lol... i really had very little control sideways or trying to stop.....
On the plus side it did get me through some deep snow that would have brought my other car to a standstill.
In short the AWD system works great at going forward in the snow, any other direction including slowing down is as bad or maybe worse than any other car!

To be honest I have great fun in the snow on bigger roads where its possible to slide, but this was a tiny little country lane off the A41 Chester! Left me feeling sick, given my splitter cost over £200 including painting, I didnt like the thought of what I might have damaged!
what do you do in that situation? I tried turning the wheel, the stop and go faster pedals, even really putting the power down.. didnt do a ****ing thing

Yep - scoobies in snow / ice = good traction, decent ability to keep power on round corners, but no more grip or braking ability than any other car with wide tyres. Therefore, if just lets you crash faster than other cars if you aren't careful Still, great fun for power slides if you have the space.
Glad to hear the car is OK. Very easy on the scoobs to bend the hub slightly and put the camber angle on that wheel out of whack, without even damaging the wheel.

The ABS will also not help in snow, and in fact can increase your braking distance as you don't get the build up of snow in front of the tyre that helps slow you down that a locked wheel does.
As for Scoobs on ice... same boat as everyone else. The only options are to get studded tyres or stay home!
