Smile New member needing advice!

Hello everybody, this is my first post here, having learnt about the site from my dad who is a regular poster (David Middleton).

Hopefully in the next couple of months i am going to get my first ever Scooby Turbo. We are looking at a later "classic" from around 1999. Since it is now many years since my dad owned his impreza, and since he never bought his 2nd hand, i would appreciate it if anyone here has got any advice on what i should be aware of in purchasing a subaru of this age. (Budget is around the £8000 mark). Any advice would be most appreciated!

Welcome to SNet

A good place to start.... http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm

At £8k you are easily into bugeye WRX territory, unless you really want a classic or a certain special edition.

Thanks for that link. Looks very informative! Must admit I had not really considered a “bugeye” but having looked on autotrader there does seem to be many available in that price range. Cheers
