Where did you hear that the shell had been modified?

Are you asking if it is more rigid than the standard MY06 Impreza STi?

They have employed (Yamaha) dampers to reduce side-to-side oscillations created by the suspension.

This bit from Auto Express:
"However, there are no complaints about the handling. The newcomer gets a stronger chassis, better roll rigidity and revised suspension. But it's the innovative step of fitting dampers to the body structure between the front and rear suspension strut towers that makes the difference. Apart from their ability to iron out vibrations and bumps, plus give a superb ride, they permit smoother initial turn-in, deliver more information to the driver and virtually eliminate understeer." It has additional strut braces. You can buy these from STi.

The shell is an STi shell - not a Spec C shell which would be lighter

AFAIK The shells on both the STi and Spec C are exactly the same, except the spec c has light weight roof panel and boot, plus all the sound deadening has been removed.

The spec C has a number of other metal structures removed and also different welding and beams on the front strut towers (MY06)

Mr. L,
Is the spec C more rigid? Also do you plan on imported a S204? certainlty it would be enlightening to see just how good it is? Or maybe even import just the modified parts?

PS Too bad evo mag no longer use you cars in their tests. Its sad that they have to be so "proper" and mostly test unmodded cars. To me thats not the essense of what a high performance car mag should be about. I remember how the spec C trounced the BMW M3CSL and now there saying how the M3cs is one of the greatest saloon cars extant. It just doesn't add up. JL
