Default what subaru???

hi all. i'm new to this forum and just wondered if you could help with a few questions. at the minute i'm driving a 95 bmw 318is but am selling it as i'm bored with it now. was going to go for a newer shape beemer but something in my head is telling me to try a subaru impreza. dont really know to much about them but could i get a decent one for about 4-4.5 grand?? dont want an estate.
how reliable are imprezas, anything i should be looking out for,any well known faults?? also,do they do any autos because think i'd rather go for automatic this time,or is an auto impreza not worth getting?

cheers in advance for any help given

Auto Impreza is import only. Get any car you consider properly inspected. As far as reliability a standard unmolested cars is very reliable. Go for one with FSH. UK cars are more expensive but are mapped to run on UK fuel. Insurance can be expensive and expect low 20s mpg around town in a classsic shaped UK car. Servicing isn't cheap but there are plenty of specialists about. They're great fun ....
