Wink Classic prices

Hi all,

Currently own a classic, to which i am selling to trade up the subaru model range. The question is am I asking too much for the vehicle? I am wanting to sell it privately as subaru trade in prices are whack! The vehicle can be found on autotrader search by distance using the postcode CH66 2TW and it should be the first vehicle that appears a classic red mica met. This is not a sales plug, it is a request for advice. Any sale that comes of it would be good though! LOL

Your help is much appreciated.

Regards

Mike Nolan

I bought a MY00 about a month ago, 95k miles for £5k. Excellent condition, standard apart from Magnex cat back exhaust.

MY00 with low miles (on here anyway) go for about £7k.

You'll get more on Autotrader though.

It probably is worth what you're asking - IIRC the leather interior was over a grand as an option when new - BUT... you're unlikely to get a quick sale, you'll need to wait for the right buyer to come along.

More realistically, around £7500 for a quicker sale, but it may still take a while to get a genuine buyer.

P.S. - if you want to sell the interior let me know, can part ex with a standard 98 black/white one in good nick.

The second hand car market is screwed, there are bargains everywhere.. My other halfs 94 WRX (with 75k) set her back £2,500.. My 2001 Omega with 65k set me back £2k

You'll also find that people will accept stupid offers because the cars have been on the market for so long.

There is always a market for good low mileage reasonably priced Classics - i'd say stick it on here for 7500-7800 and you shoudl get a buyer

Having been looking for a while myself most seem to be on for between £7500 to £8000.

Yours has the interior and tracker already installed so should get you closer to 8k.

Depends if you want to sell quickly, I bought an X Reg with 25k for £7000 last week + £400 for a tracker

There are two other cars with sub 30k miles on the Autotrader at the moment for under £8k.

That may be true for cars that pepper the market - but, for some cars they are getting sold for above book and with a queue of buyers.

Good Classic Impreza's are one such car - BUT, it needs to be a good one (anything thats been messed about with will struggle).

Try buying an outstanding MX5!! Anything thats any good has gone for top money ......... the dross hangs about.

It's the same as it's always been, nothing has changed there!
