Default Road angel or tom tom?

Which is the better option, road angel compact and a atlas or a tom tom one with camera subscription any help would be great.

I know that the Road angels are pretty good, but was wondering if it would be worth spending an extra 80 quid for the sat nav and subscribe to the camera detection, how good is the tom tom at doing this?

cheers John W

Have you considered a Road Angel Navigator?

Yea but they seem a bit to expensive, a tom tom one is about as much as I am willing to spend, and they are huge!!

you don't actually need to pay for the camera detection for tomtom.

can download free from http://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk/

this is an overlay which you just upload into the machine and is updated every month by users.

i've not used road angel but my tomtom does the trick nicely.

Ok so I've got Tomtom so could be a bit biased. But there is so much FREE stuff on the web to customise your Tomtom - camera databases, point of interest, sound files and of course the celb voices.

Cheers for the replies so far,
I think I am leaning towards the tom tom one as its nice and small, good price etc.. has any one else got any opinions on what they are like at detecting cameras etc compared to a road angel or origin etc..as this is a high prioty for me.

Thanks John.

The Road Angel has just had a major software update, I'm told.

I was supposed to have a unit for testing last week
