Angry

I ordered Black Diamond Discs for front & rear, and corresponding Mintex pads.

The parts took a week to arrive, and I duly organised having them fitted at a local garage. Turns out the front discs were too small, and the rear pads were wrong.

I phoned Revolution and went thru the invoice with them (it stated MY99, as it should). They'd supplied MY98 front discs and rear pads for a P1 !!!

I was promised replacement parts in the post that afternoon.

Over two weeks later, I phoned again to enquire on the parts - Having received nothing. Guess what? They'd completely forgotten to re-issue the required parts!!

I was assured they'd be with me the very next day.

Next day...Rear pads only arrive. I phone and am told must be because the parts were coming directly from suppliers. And indeed the next day the discs arrive.

A quick visual on the front discs showed them to be slightly larger, so I re-organised fitting at the garage.

Guess what? Rear pads are still the wrong f***ing ones.

Revolution? Are you listening?? You're going to get a snotty letter, that'll invoice you for the cost of return carriage for all your wrongly supplied parts. I'll be asking for a refund for the rear pads and a written apology for your incompetence. If I'd have still ben self-employed you'd have been invoiced for phone calls and lost earnings, as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the rear pads...I'll get them somewhere else. Oh, and anything else I want in future as well.

Some people obviously haven't heard "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".

Grrr...

U have my sympathy. As a suggestion you are probably dealing with a mere minion within the organisation. Suggest u call them and ask for Managing Director name. Then re-phone then but get a colleguae to do it for and ask to speak to the MD and when u are thru u can take over and POLITELY BEND HIS EAR

For their information 99MY, 00MY and P1 brake pads are ALL EXACTLY the same.

Hope this helps

Shark,
If that's true then I was being...misled. I knew that standard P1 brakes are the same as MY99 at the front, just wasn't sure about the back. They said they're two-pot calipers as opposed to the usual floating caliper design.

Cheers,
Squizz

Your talking about the WRX two pot rear calipers. UK 99MY 00MY and P1 are fitted with 1 pot 'push pull' calipers and vented discs. Pads are Part No - 26696FA010.

I saw the 01MY on monday and it had two pots on the rear - so hopefully that will be standard on the new model.

Wink

Just to lightn the mood then, we're agreed that standard P1 brakes are pants then?

Normal scooby brakes are weak as it is...I killed mine in 16K miles, hence the uprated discs/pads.

Just what you expect when paying £30K+ for a performance car...

Cool

I should have gone for the Prodrive or AP set-up as I wanted to in the first place.

Hey-ho.

Yep, I test drove a P1, and the brakes were excellent - good bite and feel, loads better than the similar setups I have tried including my own which has 4-pots, braided steel, DOT5, and Pagids! I couldn't believe they were just standard 4 pots.

Dunno what they would be like for track use, but they seemed pretty good on the road.

Hmmm....Glen at Revolution is a top bloke and normally very efficient.
I'm sure if you contact him direct he'll sort you out.

Stef.
