Squeaking passanger seat
#1
I have a new '01 WRX which I bought as a ex-demo. I noticed soon after buying it that there was a bad squeak from the front passanger seat particularly if there is somebody sitting in it. The drivers seat is fine. Anybody else have that problem and if so is there an easy cure??

Take it back, it's quite common to miss out one of the grease blobs where there should be one in manufacture. Let them do the tracing, next tme it's in for a tickle of oil or whatever.

Thanks for the reply guys. The wife appreciated the jaw suggestion. 555 Boy - I'll wait that week - otherwise it looks like it's back to the dealer.
While I'm on, can anybody suggest why my disks are gone a lovely (not!) rusty colour. It's not a problem I see on my wifes Alfa 156 so I am assuming it ain't supposed to happen!

Both my seats do this and almost every WRX I have driven has squeaky seats.
We've given up oiling/greasing them as they are being replaced with some Cobra's

Ohhhhhhhhh Ok then Bobby,I suppose another day of that irritating noise is enough for anyone...........................Are you ready.
......................Are you sure.................................
........Its the SEAT BELT RELEASE BUCKLE or at least it was on mine, when you hear the squeek DON'T MOVE just gently move the buckle from its current position and it will stop (hopefully).
I ended up spraying some Silicon/Teflon type lubricant in/around the buckles and has so far been successful.
Good look & theres always earplugs
