Urgent help/advice needed
The head gasket has gone on my car and with this cracked both the cylinder heads. The garage have quoted me £840 per cylinder head plus labour.
Only problem is they have noticed that a bolt was not in the right place after another garage changed the timing belt. The bolt was missing from the thermostat housing, this has allowed the housing to move and cause the system to leak coolant. With this loss of coolant the temperate got high, over heated and cracked the heads.
My question is do I have a leg to stand on with claiming against the garage that change the timing belt?
Also is there any where that I can get a cheaper priced cylinder head, the price above is from Subaru UK and I know they are generally high.
Any help will be appreciated as my current bill is standing at over £2.5k and I cannot afford to pay it.
