Default Recomended First Mods

Last week i bought a 1997 P Reg DBM uk turbo.

What would you say apart from what i am going to do is worth doing.

The car is standard twin small exhaust, std alloys and tiny boot spoiler. However it has koni ajustable Damper, std springs, and a k+n element.

The obvious ones are Exhaust, which i am in the process of sourcing, wheels and a bigger spoiler.

Things like Earthing, Bushes, De Cat......

Basically things that are minor/Not so minor but reep good rewards.

Not FMIC AND REMAP,bigger turbo and stuff thats for later.

Oah yeah it has Diamond Grooved Discs and Pads

Brakes are a good start. One of my first mods was to 4 pots so that I could stop once I'd added that extra power Decat downpipe is a very good mod for the money too.

Hey Staffy

Pvt or Garage ?? If it's needed it might pay to have a full service and check the timing belt before anything else... how are the MAF's on this year are they stronger than the later one's ?

I've got to agree with Paul the down pipe is very noticable indeed, just remember to lag it to keep the engine bay temps down.

Just so you realise I'm running full de-cat and panel filter on the standard ECU.

First:

Make sure all the servicing is up to date, especially the cam belt.

Then, if it hasn't already got an aftermarket back box, get one according to your preference in sound. The Std peashooters completely mute the flat four soundtrack.

Then............

DO NOTHING. You've only had the car for a very short while; it's hard to know what to change when you don't yet know the car. Spend some time enjoying it and this will allow you to formulate a sensible plan of what you'd like to change and what the best way of going about that might be.

Get some better headlamp bulbs in there , and look out for a driving light conversion like the PIAA one that was an option, makes night time seem like day
