Default MY06 Mod Advice !

Hi Everyone this forum is ace, hoping someone can help. Picking up my new MY06 WRX in a couple of weeks and am just wondering if anyone has any advice on any mods ie exhaust, suspension, styling. Also would anyone reccomend fitting 18s in favour of the standard 17s.

Depends if you care about the warranty or not mate, almost all aftermarked mods will invalidate your warranty.

If you are dieing to do something to the car, speak to the dealer about the ppp.

18's should be OK, although they may tramline a little more, but don't be tempted by 19's as the handling will be seriously compromised.

As for mods, as Fitz says above the warranty must be considered so speak to the dealer about when the 06 PPP may be released. If you must do something before even getting used to the car why not try suspension upgrades which will have a mnimial effect on the warranty (obviously, a Subaru dealer isn't gonna replace a set of AST coilovers but they will not affect a claim on a blown engine). The first steps are usually getting the rear ARB sorted as the OE item is flimsy and on pathetic plastic droplinks. A 22mm Whiteline adjustable with solid steel/alloy links would be IRO £150. After that I can strongly recommend the AST coilovers. Full height and 12 position damp adjustment, and completely transform the car making it very stable on the road. To achieve a similar increase in speed by increasing power would have cost me many £000's and compromised reliability, and the waranty (which has now expired ).

Thanks dudes, I am not really that desperate to do anything too soon was just curious if anything is on the market yet. I will probably go down the route of 18s after a couple of months then I will definately talk to my dealer about exhausts and suspension. Thanks for the advice guys.
