Dumb Female Needs Guidance!!!!
I'll be honest, I'm not exactly clued up when it comes to scoobys. I bought a Forester off a mate last year. He imported it a few years ago.
All i know about it is that it's a 1997 S Turbo EJ20 engine.
I had a baby shortly before I bought it so in the year I've had it i've not done anything to it or managed to find out what it's capable of. It's in major need of a service, new brakes and clutch. I've had guages and a blitz dump valve fitted.
Does anyone know anything about this car? BHP? Or even what the UK equivelant is? I have trouble getting parts and stuff.

Let me get this right. It needs a service, new brakes and a clutch and you fitted a dump valve and gauges?

Actually the guages and dump were fitted a month after I got it. I've had the car a year. The clutch, brakes and service are issues that have come up in the past few weeks. I'm not actually that dumb. This isn't my first performance car.

Ignore em,
Its a sad fact of SN that new peeps are not made to feel welcome all the time. I assure you that not everyone on here is a rude **** though, so hopefully some one will come along who can help you and answer your questions nicely!

Hi there leelee.
Welcome to sn, like most things in life you get the odd saddo, SN seems to have attracted more than its fair share. Most are however good humoured and often do not mean anything but can come across as knobbers
Oh - and watch for the sharks who are conspicuous by their absence at the mo apart from maybe the odd one
Re the service - it sounds like it may be expensive with what you describe.
Have you had a quote or got a local specialist?
Do you know anyone or need some tips/advice on who to go to in your area?
Good luck

A f*cking 'dump valve'? Why ffs? Why do people fit this pointless ****e? Its like fitting larger diameter wheel/tyre combinations without increasing the brake rotor size; or fitting wider tyres without increasing the roll-stiffness of the chassis. Common; and f*cking il-advised.
An E-SF5 Forester S/tb weighs 1350 kilos and makes 250PS @ 6250 RPM. It has a power density of 5.4. That gives it performance which is broadly comparable with a JDM 'Wagon.
