Q1: Will the Old Bill give me grief for my full Scoobysport system should they choose to pull me over? Never worried before, since it's only as loud as your right foot, but Ronaldo got me thinking with tales of Diesel checks on Chelsea Bridge!!!!!!! (Emissions issue I can err, circumvent with liberal dash of Red Diesel for the MOT or Fix notice).

Q2: Why is the Rally of Great Britain only in Wales by now - every bloody spectator has to travel there and it will be a nightmare.

Q3: Finally, what the hell is a PPP you're all goin on about? To me it is a 'public private partnership', but Ken Livingstone is not bolting anything on a Scoob AFAIK!

Q.1 I'd go easy on the loud pedal with cops around if I where you. There must be some noise legislation around.

Q.2 No idea.

Q.3 PPP is the Prodrive Performance Pack.

Gives increased power and torque, exp in the mid range. Upto 00MY retails at £2000, and 01MY on for £1600. The former is fitted at Prodrive only, the latter at dealers or the docks.

If I remember correctly the limit is 108Db and a full Scoobysport runs at about 104Db so you should be OK. But then its always better not to get stopped in the first place.

That's good to know Dave - thanks. The law, being generous, to a motor, how strange!!!

Don't think a Scoobysport is 104db - my BPM is 104db and that's way louder

Thought a Scoobysport was a nice, but tolerable 98db?

I run a Pug 205 GTi as a hillclimb motor and that is 107Db at 2/3 revs...
I would seriously doubt a Scoobysport system would be up around 107Db ~ Its VERY loud. I remember something about decibels not being liniar.. Ie 107Db is MUCH louder than 106Db etc.

With my Mongoose system on the Subaru I think that is 93Db at 2/3 revs (taken as per RAC MSA Blue book)

Cheers

dB ratingis a logarhythmic scale meaning that for every 3dB increase you double the volume, I got done at Donington drive by at 113 dB in a Caterham - its very very loud, I've never had a problem with the scoobysport exhaust on trackdays - which stangely enough seem to need a quieter exhaust than road legal
