It involves taking the old one out and fitting a new one.

Not sure how long it would take.

2 hours if you have hydraulic (cant spell ) equipment.

engine stays in the car. the gearbox can be removed along with prop and driveshafts. downpipe doesnt have to be removed. gearbox is very heavy. two pople will struggle to lift it. lifting gear advised.

My best time is 1.25 hours on classic with air tools

If it's your first time........ 4hrs+. Thats how long it took me on a classic with all the right tools, ramp etc!

Typically 3 to 4 for removal and re-fit. You may do it a touch quicker, but you must be bionic, Kroy, to do it in 1.25.

Not suggesting you didn't, or doubting you in any way, but did you have anyone helping you- david copperfield, paul daniels etc etc

according to autodata a my93-00 will take 5.10 hrs and a my00-05 is 7 hrs so 3-4 hrs sounds about right

Make sure you get a quote as most garages will charge by the book, regardless of how long it takes.
