Default Its over

My love affair with fast cars was terrifyingly halted last night.
I pulled onto my drive after work last night, opened my door, was struck in the eye with a knuckle duster, dragged from the car, beaten and my car taken. They came from nowhere
My wife and 2 children aged 2 and 4 were only feet away, but thankfully inside the house.
The car was found 15 mins later after the tracker was activated.
I dont want it back
They got away with my house and buisiness keys which were on my keyring

I live in the Hindley Green area of Wigan.
Owning a car like that just insn't worth it to me anymore
Please, please be careful out there

Ah, you must be the wagon ownder someone poster about earlier?

Sincere condolences mate. I hope they get the scumbags.

I've said it before, the penalty for this type of offence should be a MINIMUM of 10 years in Prison!

If we don't start taking theft of motor vehicles with violence seriously in this county it'll be like South Africa before we know it!!

I hope you make a speedy recovery.

An important thing to always remember after something like this - they wanted the car, they don't give a **** about you or your family.

That sounds bad, but it is a good thing to note ...... as it's easy to think that they may come back for you - they won't (unless you have another fancy car, that is).

Hope you get over it quickly

Bad luck but don't give in to them. Just tool up for next time. As car owners we need to start causing the scum some casualties otherwise they will try it on more than ever.

So sorry to hear that....I home the injury isn't too bad?
quite a few scrapes with brass knuckles and know the normal outcome.

Be safe and fingers crossed they catch the *******.

There's a guy by me that the police know drives around doing stuff like this but they do nothing saying they don't want to provoke him....makes me sick

There seems to be a lot of this happening in the Leeds and Wigan area lately

As someone has already said, what goes around comes around and some
day they will do it to the wrong person.

I'm glad your all OK and my thoughts are with you

Christ... Bad luck mate. Hope your ok.

I hear what PSLewis is saying, but change your locks in anycase. They may not come back, but they do have your house keys. They could come back when your all out, or worse still, if your in.

Better safe than sorry.

this is the kind of **** the police need to start sorting out, instead of concentrating of statistics on the easy crimes.

i hope you heal fast and that you and your family are not haunted by the event.

all the best.

I am so sorry to read what happened to you last night but agree with PS that at least they wanted to the car and not your beloved family. The bruises will heal but I totally agree with you about getting rid of the car.

I have a young family and haven't put much thought into a situation like this. Its thanks to a forum like these that you get to hear about news of this nature and severity

It s not about letting anyone win in situations like this but feeling safe and secure which I hope you'd agree!!

Get well soon!!!!

Esh

ruminator, so sorry to hear of your traumatic experience, no doubt you feel very vulnerable at the mo, hope you get over it and get your locks changed and get another fast car!
i am totally paranoid about this sort of thing happening to me and take every conceavable precaution to help minimise myself being a victim.
i have acces to many reports of car jackings and note that the scum get you when your guard is down.. my advice is dont let your guard down although i am not suggesting that you did.
it is through reports like this that most people get to hear of car jacking but many fail to realise how easy and likely they are to being the next statistic. its a sad fact but to own a performance car the owner needs to be security conscious to the point of obsessive. i still hear of jackings after fake road accidents, leaving the doors unlocked whilst driving, answering a knock at the front door, to name a few.
please scooby owners, or any car owners be aware that this sort of crime is rife, sometimes being committed by kids at 13 -14 yrs old its sickening.
stay vigilant and get in a routine before during and after driving to hopefully help to stay safe. if you think my paranoid views are alittle extreme you want to try living with me. security lights, padlocked garage, additional door locks, nasty dog, and wife ,house alarm, tracker, anti hijack baseball bats and fbi style driver checking routine, oh and the handgranades sometimes i think im going mental is it all worth it.?

Thats all very well. You pull into your own driveway nice and relaxed and get set upon by lowlife filth! I don't think you have time to react no matter how big and hard you think you are. They count on catching you unawares and need your keys, thats all.
