Default Exhaust characteristic burble

I just showed him the video of the Scoobyworld 'Racebox' video. and he said, he did like the bit when the driver revved it, but he did not like the bub bub bub bub (idle burble). I said that’s the noise, characteristic that the Impreza flat four boxer makes. What is he on .

I really don't get where my dad is coming from sometimes Maybe as that vid of that exhaust was on a new age (like what my dad has) he prefers a classic 'more distinctive' burble??

What this site needs or 'A' website needs is various impreza's with different exhaust makes/ decats etc...

Rant over

Glad mine doesn't smoke like that!

Got to agree - it does leave you wanting to hear him really give it some revs rather than the tickle

The classic's do have a better burble, guessing that is down to have unequal mainfold etc unlike on the new age cars.

Do you think its a good exhaust to get, other than the Afterburner one?.
As I'm not too sure yet if I want a 4.5inch tailpipe or stick with the standard look i.e. STI pipe style. Just want an increase in the burble that the engine has, but not way way over the top that just gets on your nerves at 90mph you can't hear people in the car or the stereo!.

I really like the prodrive exhaust. It's got a lovely deep grumble at low revs but doesn't intrude into the cabin to the point of irritation, but it's there when you want to hear it and forgettable when you don't - it's deep and growling with some lovely sounding deep bumb be de bum bum's on the downshifts...for me it's a soothing noise that has just the right tone of soft raspiness at high throttle...plus it looks great.

Some pretty good reviews here...not quite sure if it's exactly the same as the uk exhaust but it reads like it is...

Absolutely agree man, the scooby burble is awesome!! I was in town the other day and I heard this stupidly loud boy-racer exhaust humming up the road behind me.....and I was placing bets in my head on whether it was gonna be a corsa or a fiesta......and it was a blood Evo 8!!! Just sounded awful like!! Flat 4 any day of the week
