depends on what you want to do really,

Is it a right off or can it be repaired?
Are you going to claim through your insurance ?
Do you want to keep the car ?

Put it this way, what proportion of the value of the car is the cost of replacing/rebuilding the engine and repairing the other damage? If you've paid any less than 10k for the car, sounds like a write-off job to me I'm afraid.

It's not good to damage these cars is it.

My Mrs was sat at a roundabout 2 days ago and set off straight into the back of a 4x4 "that I thought had gone".

£500 worth of damage to my scoob.

YOU USELESS TOSSING STUPID SODDING BINT!!! LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING!!!!

If it's damaged the cam cover don't even dare try and start it until you've taken the cover off and inspected the cambelt and pulleys.

...doesn't it doesn't always knacker the engine, unless it was doing 5000rpm at the time

Just bends a few valves. Save up for a pair of reconditioned cylinder heads

Hope you declared those 2k of mods (if they were performance ones)... or get them off the car before you claim and the insurance assessor arrives
