Default air con

has anyone had their air con refilled/serviced/flushed etc.

a regular in my pub has a garage and bought this big £4000 machine that does all of the above, it is also fully portable so can be taken anywhere in the back of his van, all you do is connect the machine to your air con system, enter the car and press start, it lets you know if there are problems or leaks etc and is really good as he demonstrated on my impreza.

however he does not get to use it as often as he would like what with real fixing things needing doing, so knowing i am into cars he asked if i would want to try and make a go with it as i am looking at changing jobs and not sure which way to go. (i thought i may start doing it on days off or evenings).

he says he charges about £85 + vat depending on which car it is.

have people had this done?
is it something people would consider?
do you know of other companies that do it?
have you seen it advertised anywhere, ie mags, internet etc?

feedback would be gratefully appreciated, as i said it may be a new job opportunity if i can make it pay, or just another tank of optimax per week.

thanks in advance

ian

I recall someone on here that works in air conditioning commenting that these services are just profitting out of the general publics lack of knowlege. If the sysytem still cools the air when you turn it on then there is no need to mess with it. If it doesn't then you may have a leak or fault, but until then just leave it be.
