Default beaten by a nissan 200sx

well was coming off the slip road about to join the A47 at postwick in Norwich . i was behind a nissan 200sx on a P plate i was in my 03 STI PPP [dyno'd at 316bhp]. wen he started to boot it. so i thought yeh i'll av a little play with him.
JESUS...
i barely struggled to keep with him. got to a roundabout we were both going straight so i gained on him going round the roundabout. but wen we powered out of the roundabout he was off again and was actually creeping away from me. it was only wen we got upwards of 130 that i finally nailed him. but that might be because he backed off.
it looked completely standard [could have engine tuned to f*ck)although it was a clean one.
maybe wrong but i thought they werent that quick or not as quick as an sti anyway..
their was a thread on here about the ultimate "sleeper" car...
well that was certanley a contender...

regards Lee

In which case 260bhp would give a 1470KG scoob something to worry about.

In reality that doesn't make that much of a difference though. Take a sapphire cosworth for example. The 2wd version is only 0.1 quicker to 60 and 5 mph top end although it has the same power as the 4wd. Plus the 4wd is slightly heavier. So how people on here see the 2wd vs 4wd surely shouldn't a 2wd sapphire eat a 4wd ?

I had one a few years ago - standard was 197bhp .... 0-60 in about 6.5, 100 in about 16.5.

Up the boost as I did and it's an animal - mine was much quicker than my current MY05 WRX PPP ...... I just sold it before it went bang! The acceleration at high speed was incredible.

the 2wd have less power. and remember 0-60 should be close, beacuse the 4wd has a traction advantage, and the 2wd has weight in its hands. and top speed, weight becomes less of a advatage when drag takes over.

yeah real easy to get power out of the sr20 engine, similar engine to the gtir except it doesnt have the fuel injected throttle bodies.

it's been a car i have always thought about buying as my old R was very very quick and it was a real good engine to work on and reliable as **** dispite what alot of people say.

15psi, uprated fmic, throttle bodies from the gtir (need to custom make a left entry plennium chamber tho), and your laughing with over 300 horses.

I guess you mean 130kph (hint hint)? There is no way a law abiding citizen such as yourself would admit breaking the law on a public bulletin board, yes?

a few of my m8s have them, it certainly cant of been standard, like mentioned there 197bhp standard and my m8s standard 1 doesnt content with scoobs or the likes, hence reasoning for stage1+2 tune then it wud be a diff story.

but my other m8 with a 200sx running stage two (290bhp iirc), now that is rapid and shocks most people who try it with him... he recently told me how he shocked an sti ppp.

definate wolf in sheeps clothing - the more i see them the more i luv the looks of them too

i was gonna say

didnt think standard was anywhere near 250

thought it was more like 200bhp

most have been tuned to beat a 315bhp Scooby. As has already been said, 2WD drive car has lower weight and transmission loss in its favour but has much lower grip against it
