STI/WRX gear gaitor differences

STI/WRX gear gaitor differences
I brought a sti gear surround for the metal surround that came with the sti for my wrx. It came as a complete unit and didnt fancy swapping the surround over.
Only prob is the gaitor on the sti does not seem to be able to connect to my wrx ****
Did they have different methods of connecting them on the different models?
BTW it is an 02 year.

If you mean you can't get the boot to stay up flush to the gear **** then yes they do have different fitments
The wrx gear **** had and extra lip to pull the boot over flush - the sti has a completely differnet style **** (due to the lift up reverse) so fits by a clasp collar - well mine does at least!
if this isn't what you meant then you need to be a bit clearer!!!

Hope you don't mind me asking but where did you buy the surround from? They do look alot nicer than what you get in the WRX it looks so bare around the gear area.

Was around £35 inc postage
BTW it is from an STI that was being broken
