Question second hand MY06

MY06 WRX reg Nov 05 2000 miles at main dealers on for £19995? as the first owner has paid the VAT, delivery and number plate at a cost of £3542 that off the price of a new one is £17154.89 so even if they had it on at that it still gives them there original profit on a new model or have i missed something

Many used items have a market value that is more than the price you would pay new without VAT.

The first owner of a car doesn't automatically lose the value of the VAT when they drive off the forecourt, it is a myth. Depends on the car of course...

i bought a brand new mini coops (s) in 2004 for 15k,, kept it for a year, put 5000miles on it and sold it for 15500,,, it certainly does depend on the car

its about demand, if everyone wants one and only a few are made prices go up!
If loads of made or no one wants them, prices come down.

Thats why old cars begin to rise in price!

VAT is irrelevant.

i could bore you with the details but basically a trader still has to pay over vat on the sale of second hand cars (they still only pay over VAT on the profit element)
