Default Prodrive Ramps Subaru Impreza Up to 345 HP

Would it be possible to get this configuration in your STI or Forester XT?
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108921

And what will it cost?

Greetings,
SRX!

Isn't Prodrive having a few problems in development of the new PPP for the 2.5 engine because it keeps melting the pistons at about 350bhp (well that's the rumour i heard anyway)

I have aslo heard a few other "Tuners" have hit problems with the std 2.5LtrEU/UK. Rumour has it that the can't be cheaply modded to acheive over 340bhp with reliablability unlike adding a 2.5ltr bottom end to a 2.0ltr

I heard replacing the heads and Cams etc from a 2.0Ltr Sti could solve the problem (IIRC the heads need to be "made" to fit as slightly different)

That would make for an even more expensive PPP

I think Andy F and Bob R were discussing something along this lines recently.

I wonder how Litchfield imports is getting on with the new Type 25, won't that be starting off with the same base 2.5 engine now as well?

No, the Type 25 uses the JDM top end (and has a few tweaks to other things as well ).

I'm waiting to see what the MY06 Type 25 comes out with - I've seen some BIG numbers quoted on here, but the post seemed to get deleted

Even If PPP had to just add on top anew set of Cams (no heads), remap, Sports cat, fuel pump and fitting this would be far Toooo expensive for most

This, with possible Law changes may be a coffin nail to far for the aftermarket PPP

PPP may soon only be available for to "Named special Editions" like the old P1, WR1, UK300 etc and WR555. IMHO

I wonder if they've treid a 2005 2.0Ltr ECU remapped for a 2.5ltr and compared results by inserting into a remapped 2006 2.5ltr. Perhaps ECU's preset parameters for VVT etc, etc are the problem and not fueling and Timing.

Oooops if they tried it with New Ecu, Gems or Apexi and still no good just ignore the above ( I must stop drinking)

Emissions, new rules came into affect this January which apparently made it almost impossible for the 2.0l to pass yet the 2.5l can (don't ask me how )

Before this gets out of hand, the statement above is completely erroneous.

We are still working on the various packages for the 06MY WRX, STi & Forester XT and have yet to see any problems achieving the figures we would like to see or have issues with reliability despite many miles covered.

I won't however be telling you here (yet!) when they will be ready but it will be soon and expect some surprises. ?Is that possible??

Well I heard a rumour that there would be two PPP's available for the 06 STi, giving different power outputs. Perhaps the top one will be a match for the Evo MR340?

The P2 uses a 2ltr engine and not a 2.5ltr producing 349ps
