No question, he overcooked it and then got away with it. You can see him lock it and then suddenly get back on the gas thinking "bloody hell.. we can make this!!"
It must have taken until the end of the stage to stop laughing!
Agreed.. you have to feel sorry for the shocks on the first jump.
Gigi is a great guy, and certainly from the McRae school of driving

Gigi is a great entertainer as well as a superb driver, but I think the 'webmaster's ' right, he'd have been laughing his cast iron ba11s off after getting away with that! Quality and I wish I could do it, but even the in car footage has me cringing!

I would say he is an amazing driver but think the harepin was mistake & luck & some very high talent.
Seems to be sideways far eariler than necessary and probably lost a few 10ths. However, far better than I could achieve.
When I did a similar thing in a rally I watched as the stone wall sliding past the nose of my Astra getting closer and closer, just the instant before impact, the wall ended and the exit of the hairpin corner appeared, I floored it an carried on. Probably looked good from outside, but I was Cacking my self

As Webby says, well over cooked but with one BIG diference a great driver recovered it with style an average driver would have binned it IMHO
