Default STi Anyone?

Ello peeps, new to this site as I've had trouble locating a complete STi engine anywhere else for reasonable wonga.

I've exhausted the Ebay channels and a few other contacts so I was hoping someone here would be able to keep me in mind if they hear of anything for sale or would be able to point me in the right direction.

I'm hoping for an import model although it's not a must, but preferably over 250bhp. It has to have complete wiring harness, ECU and everything that's needed for a straight implant.

I have a custom Beetle Roadster that has problems with the VW aircooled engines due to overheating as the engine bay is restrictive for airflow hence me going to down the water boxer route. Being a flat 4, they are ideal.

Can anyone please help?

You can contact me on MSN or Email with golden_blue@musician.org
Or call me on 07778224996

Many thanks!

Andy.

i can't help on the engine front but i can say nice beetle!!! would love to know how you get on with the conversion. i've heard of this being quite a popular transplant with the original bugs.

may i suggest getting hold of the jap performance car mags. imo your best bet would be to buy a scooby that's been in a rear shunt and buy it as a donner car. this way you'll get all the parts you need and be able to flog off things like doors, bonnet, front bumper if undamaged and use it as a way to help fund the project.

good luck and keep us posted.

Try API.
I'm sure they'll be able to sort you out.

Many thanks!

Have spoken to a couple of people about this today and got some invaluable info.
Will keep you all posted on the progress of the conversion even though it's not a massive job and the main work has already been done with the chassis and body.

P.S. Does anyone have a link for API? is it a tuning house or a breakers etc?
