Where did you get that information from?
I thought the fact that they cause borewash is enough not to have one.

i dont see how they could cause borewash? maybe i'm wrong but i thought that they were for dumping boost when the throttle plate was closed thus stopping the turbo from munching the pressure........

Why dont the top guys use them on there cars..........i take it your on about vta valves.I was under the impression they are just for sound and do nothing to improve performance...having run 3 cars with and without vta,s they didn,t make any difference on quarter mile/0-60 dash etc..

The good old Chav comments again, why is a dump valve Chav?, it's a load of bull, i've got the Blitz BOV on mine and the thing sounds mental with the wastegate chatter, admittedly i'm not a fan of the Bailey version but each to their own.

With regard to "bore wash" haven't heard it causing that but vta dv's do cause a bit of overfueling.
When running a Maf controlled ecu as per all scoobs (motec etc excluded) the air entering the engine is measured and the required fueling calculated so when you release some of this accounted for air via a vta dump valve the calculation is screwed up, basically making the engine go rich for a moment, often causing pops and bangs on some cars!
As for vta dump valves, i dont like them. Doesnt matter what type or make as far as i'm concerned they all sound daft!
I like the subtle almost undetectable sound from the standard re-circ one on my RA, not in your face or ott just enough to let you know it's got a turbo, which lets face it everyone knows already

The reason SUBARU fit the one they do is because you look like a right idiot with an aftermarket 'whooooooosh' version!! and they don't want their buyers looking like complete *****

I do not mind the sound of them. They smarten up the engine bay as well. However I have said it before and I will say it again: the best thing I did to my car was to return to the standard DV. With an atmospheric DV fitted, the ride is jumpy. The car simply drives smoother with the standard DV fitted.
