Agree with CD2.
I hadn't done my engine for 2 years and it had taken quite a lot of dirt in. I even forgot it was red !
Only treated it once, here's the result:

I've been told some warm water, a soft brush and dishwasher product will help me cleaning the intercooler. It's just a bit too cold to go out and do that now
