Default Elvington Track day experiences?

Just curious to peoples experiences of Elvington track days. They seem to use cones to map the track out which may be good for a first timer - Any advice/experience? What is tyre wear like on their surfaces etc.

Cheers

great for a first timer, nothing much to hit as you are on a great expanse of tarmac. Tyre wear can be quite high as the airfield surface is quite abrasive.

Did a track day there a few years ago. Make sure that the surface has been swept, alot of people ended up with serious stone chips and lights taken out. Best to keep well back from the car in front
