Default Petrol type and MoT emissions

Just thinking the other day and as my car is coming up for it's MoT and has a few less cats than standard

If I put in 95 RON instead of Optimax @ 98 what affect would this have on the test, positive or negative? ie closer or further away from a pass?

cheers

I don't think it'll make any difference... where are you roughly in the uk.... there are a few devices floating around to overcome such eventualities...

Yup no difference, you won't pass the latest MOT without a cat though. Easiest thing is to fit a UK centre cat and make shore its good and hot for the test.

I have a MY01 bugeye with a H&S downpipe and centre section and that passed its M.O.T, but only just on the emissions.

That's useful to know as I wanna lose the downpipe cat in my bugeye soon and have a remap (already lost centre cat).

Have you had yours remapped?
