why is my car doing this - clutch judder
its a 52 plate with only 15k on clock just out or warranty, this only happens every now and then when i set off, the clutch like shudders, why? It doesent slip and it bites like new as it should with only few miles on clock. Ive only had the car for 3 weeks so dont know them very well. Does something need adjusting because its going in for its 36 monthly servive on mon or is this just what impreza's do?

I have an API supplied Exedy Organic on mine and it NEVER judders. All in inc fitting it cost just under £500. Never go to a stealer for a clutch!

Common fault on Imprezas I'm afraid all 4 of mine have done it and the Forester (Impreza in disguise). More pronounced when the weather is cold and damp, not too much of a problem in the summer.

We've sold Gazillions of our Exedy performance clutches, We've never yet had to tell a customer that ' it'll be alright once it settles '.
In fact no-one has yet even reported a judder at all, at any time after the job has been done. Some must now be up to 20,000 miles
AND it doesn't cost anything like £800.
Clutch, lightened Flywheel, release bearing, and fitted £570 plus VAT [ £669 something if I remember ] If you just kave a skimmed standard flywheel, then the bill will be £117.50 less.
Form queue here :--- or see Group buys.

A light flywheel reduces weight from the rotating mass of the engine making it easier to turn. Therefore, less energy is required to turn it and more energy is useable to power the car.
Makes spool up faster, generally nothing but goosd news.

No, the hundred quid is for your existing flywheel skimming to take all the high points off it. New clutch, lightweight flywheel & release bearing is the thick end of seven hundred quid !
I have a MY02 WRX and the clutch always judders when its cold, but over the years I've got used to it. When I come to buy a replacement it deffo will not be a Subaru OE clutch !
