Unhappy Fitting Bolt in Seats....

Here's the deal, i recently purchased a really nice set of Cobra Evolution Bucket Seats for my classic impreza that i am attempting to convert into a replica WRC inpreza, you know the deal..Bucket seats, roll cage, decals etc.

Anyway the problem is that i have the side mount brackets for the seats however they will not sit in the car due to the tunneling un the centre of the car, the width of the brackets is wider than the floor

The only solution it to attempt to raise the seats and the floor that the will bolt too somehow.

Anyone ever done this or something similar ?
Anyone got any ideas on this ???

Help, Chris (the body shop are stalling on the spray job because of this )

Chris,

Not sure about these specific seats, as regards to the widths etc, but I have managed to mount a set of "Evo L" Sparco ones in my Spec C on side mounts. I made the job thrice as hard since I have mounted these side mounts to the oem adjustable sliders.

It's a royal pain to do, but if you have the right equipment (welder, plasma cutter etc) and loads of patience then all is good.

Unfortunately, it is certainly not anything I would recommend for an amateur (edited to add I am not suggesting you are an amateur, but just trying to highlight the complexity in hand) if you wanted to go this route.

BTW.... a number of companies will sell a conversion kit to mount on to, but even this will require welding etc (for fixed platform).

Regards,
Shaun.
